Cancellation & Refunds Policy
At Chicago Boating LLC, we take pride in offering personalized, boutique boat rental experiences with limited daily availability. Due to the nature of our services and scheduling demands, all reservations are final, and we do not offer refunds or returns under any circumstances once a booking is confirmed.
Please read the following policy carefully before booking with us.
No Refunds
All rentals are non-refundable. This includes, but is not limited to:
Guest cancellations for any reason
Scheduling conflicts
Illness or personal emergencies
Weather conditions (unless deemed unsafe by Chicago Boating LLC)
No-shows or late arrivals
Failure to comply with safety rules or terms of service
Because our boats are reserved privately and time-blocked specifically for you, your reservation prevents us from accepting other customers for that time. For this reason, we cannot issue refunds for unused time or canceled trips.
Weather-Related Conditions
Chicago Boating LLC operates rain or shine; however, in the event of severe weather conditions (e.g., high winds, lightning, or small craft advisories) or mechanical issues, we may determine that it is unsafe to operate. If your booking must be canceled due to hazardous weather, you will be offered the option to:
Reschedule your rental, subject to availability, at no additional cost
Receive a non-refundable credit valid for use within the same season
Weather cancellations are made at the sole discretion of Chicago Boating LLC for safety reasons. Light rain or cloudy conditions do not qualify as grounds for cancellation.
Rescheduling Policy
We understand that plans can change. If you are unable to attend your reserved time, we allow one reschedule per booking, provided the following conditions are met:
You contact us at least 7 days in advance of your scheduled rental
Your requested reschedule is within the same rental season and subject to availability
We are unable to reschedule bookings with less than 7 days’ notice or during high-demand periods such as holidays and weekends.
Late Arrivals & No-Shows
Your booking time is reserved exclusively for you. If you arrive late, your rental may be shortened to avoid impacting subsequent reservations. No-shows or arrivals more than 30 minutes late without prior notice will be considered a forfeited rental, and no refund or reschedule will be issued.
We encourage all guests to arrive at least 15–20 minutes early to allow time for check-in and boarding.
Gift Certificates & Third-Party Bookings
Gift certificates and third-party bookings are non-refundable and subject to the same policies as standard rentals. If a rental was booked as a gift and the recipient is unable to attend, they may request a reschedule according to the conditions listed above.
Gift credits are valid for the same season in which they are issued and cannot be extended or transferred to another year.
